I've bloody done it! Ahhhh!

Ahh! Gather round everyone!

I've only gone and bloody done it, you ready for it? Are you ready cause I don't think you are...

Oh my gosh, it's such a relief that I am slowly getting a little bit closer towards my dream job and life couldn't get any better, well it could; but for now it's pretty sweet!

I'm so pleased that I've finished it, just waiting for the certificate now. Which because I finally finished it all early this morning, they have sent my certificate off today first class, so it will be here sooner than you know!

I also got my certificates from college, I have happily passed my Level 1 Cake Dec and I am now at that qualified level, which is just ace. I'm also starting back up for Level 2 soon, in about 3 weeks which I'm just super excited about! Eeee!

Work is going okay too, I'm doing some more hours this week which when I get paid in September, I will hopefully be able to get my Public Liability Insurance and then be able to go out to the public and sell cakes! Yay, exciting times. Just want to get everything done now.

But that was all really, just wanted to share the good news! Also I will be posting some new recipes up on the blog, so make sure you click the side bar link to the cake blog!

Keep your eyes pealed and your ears tuned...

Cause I'm back!

Much love,

Why I've Been So Quiet..

Hey everyone!

It's just a quick to post to say where I've been recently and what's been happening in the world of
Sprinkle, Sparkle and Magic!

As you all know from the last post, I have recently got a new job which is still going great by the way! :D And although I may not be working up to many hours at the moment, (It's starting to go up from 10 hours though so that's good news!) I am still getting back into things, so it's knocking me off my feet a little getting back into this old routine.

In other news, I don't know if I mentioned it in the last post, but I'll mention it again if so. I have LOADS of blankets to make at the moment, I only started making one and now everyone is wanting one, wool has been bought and ordered and the finish dates have been set! So I've got quite a few to do.

I have one for August (Which is soon approaching around the corner!) Then I need to have 3 finished for November which isn't a long way away.So I'm a tad busy with that at the moment, then with my work on top, trying to fit in driving and my Health and Hygiene it's all go!

So it was just to say that I am quite busy at the moment and so I am being very quiet but when I do have a new recipe or something to talk about e.g Food. I shall let you all know and you will be the first. A new recipe post will be on its way shortly so keep your eyes pealed!

Oh also! I saw Tom Jones last night in Scarborough!! It was awesome!!

But I have to get all this done first!! Talk abut being multi-talented ;)

Till next time!

Much love as always,

It was okay!

Hey everyone!

How are well all today on this Monday afternoon?

I would like to say that I am doing brilliantly, a little bit ill but other than that I'm good!

It's just a post to say that I survived working in my new job, and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, to be honest, it was quite great!

I was, that is the keyword here people! I was going to write this but I've recently started watching New Girl and..well, I keep being distracted, but I will post this bloody post!

Anyway! The new job is going quite well at the moment, I've only done two shifts so far but I have loved it so much, it feels a bit like I'm working with Mel again, but on a bigger scale which is great! And the people there are so nice and it's such a laugh, for now it is anyway. But for now I can say I am happy there, I don't regret it - I would of regretted it more if I didn't go to it. And most of all...

Getting a bit obsessed with this program, I can't believe I've only just started watching this!! It's so good though!

I've also decided that I will be creating a new blog, one to do with all the crafts that I do! Such as the blankets I'm doing at the moment, the list has gone up from two to six now can you believe it!?

3 x Baby Blankets
1 x Blanket for Sam's mum
1 x For my mum
annnd 1 x for me!

So I've got a lot of crochet to do, in so little time and I have nowhere to show it off, which is sad!

So when I get the new blog up and running, I shall post it on here!
Don't forgot that I have a blog for my book reviews too! Which I have two to write up for today, as well as some blog posts and recipes on the cake blog as well so a lot of admin stuff to do today!

For now, I need to go!

Lots of love, speak soon!

Been a Long Time!

Hey everyone!!

How are we all?

I've been meaning to do a post for a while now, but I've just been so busy with everything that I simply forgot - I'm terribly sorry! But it's not just you guys so don't worry, I've still got a couple of book reviews to do from a couple of weeks ago and I still need to update the main Sprinkle, Sparkle & Magic blog.

Anyway, the reason I've been busy is due to many reasons. For one I recently got a new job, working in House of Fraser's Cafe, only started last week but I had a goof shift, everyone was nice and friendly so I'm hoping it will be okay. Only doing 10 hrs at the moment until I "settle" in there and then I will be moving up to 20 hrs (Whilst I'm at college) and more, so all is good!

Speaking of college, I recently passed my Level 1 Cake dec with flying colours which I am so happy about, you just can't understand!! I have also been sorting out Level 2, to which I can now say I have successfully applied onto the course and will be returning back to college on the 8th September! Two days before my birthday, couldn't be better timing if the college tried :D So happy!

In some ways though, I haven't been doing much baking, which I'm starting to get itchy fingers cause I haven't done any for a while. But I'm going to do some soon :) I did make a chocolate cheesecake with Cadbury Twirl's which will be up on the blog soon.

I Don't know if I've mentioned it, but Sam (As some of you may know him from Instagram and Twitter) passed his driving test! Ever so proud of him, he's sorting out his Classic Triumph Toledo at the moment, he's itching to get out and drive those open roads, but insurance is being a bit of a pain in the arse at the moment. Can you believe we got an insurance quote for £22,500!? There's no need for it to be that much, just companies being greedy if you ask me!

But yeah, he passed and he's been sorting his car out today, sanding it down and giving it a good clean and polish - still got some body and engine work to do! I polished my car the other day, know it's not very exciting but it was so shiny, I was proud!

So whilst Sam has been sorting the above car out, which is now more the blue colour on top  and without the stickers, I have been sat in the car (I nearly passed out of the heat! And the vinyl seats, my god thought my skin would stick to it, it was that hot!) I have been crocheting away, making a start on this lovely Christmas blanket, which will be a lovely surprise for someone :)

Lovely little Christmas granny squares! I have this blanket to make and then another two! So I'm a bit of a busy bee at the moment, as well as cakes, the new job and college. So I may lack in existence for a little while but I will be back. Don't worry! I've been having so much fun creating this little blanket so far!

This is what the blanket will be looking like, I know it's a bit eye boggling at the moment but there will be a while border around all the squares and then a big white border around the whole blanket. I don't know how big it's going to be yet, I think I'll just keep making them until I get the desired size.  But loving every minute of making them, becoming a bit obsessed if I'm honest! If you haven't guessed, if I'm not baking or reading I will be crocheting and sometimes I may be playing the drums!

I've had this lovely man to listen to whilst I've been writing up this blog post, but I'm going to disappear for a while and get some fairy buns made up, as we're a bit peckish ;)

See you soon everyone!

Happy baking!

Much love,

What I'm Doing Now

Morning everyone!

How is your weekend going so far?

Mine's been a little bit hectic!

First off, I went to Mr. B's gig yesterday that he played, he did wonderfully well even though the sound was a bit quiet (engineer's) but non the less he did brilliant! I wasn't too keen on the second band if I'm honest, all their songs sounded the same and not very memorable. Meaning, I can't remember a damn song they played, the way they go or there song titles. This isn't because I didn't watch them or anything cause I did, I just found them a little boring and nothing really new.

In other news, I made some new cupcakes up! Rollover Rolo Cupcakes! That's the name we're going for at the moment, it may change haha.

Basically there chocolate cupcakes, with a rolo hidden inside, topped with smooth and fluffy chocolate buttercream, a rolo placed on top then drizzled with homemade salted caramel! Recipe will be on the blog soon! Mr. B approved but felt there should be more Rolo's inside!

In the world of Sprinkle, Sparkle and Magic

Also in other news, I have started doing my Level 2 Health and Hygiene course which I am over the moon about! I feel like I'm finally getting some where with my cakes and my little site! Exciting times!

I have some cake orders this coming month too, which will be up on the blog.
I have an Engagement cake and the Father's Day cake to do in the same week, so that will be busy and then a birthday cake to do the week after! Busy but excited!

What else is there?...

Oh! I'm finally sorting out a pricing system, had to use a template and not just editing it all but will be so much easier to use and cost cakes now. Sending it to Becky and Sam too so they can use it. Will hopefully be doing my Level 2 at college, just all boils down to money as usual. Mum says that she will pay for it but don't want her to all the time as it's not fair, May just ask everyone to chip in and get it for my 21st then it's something that I really want to do. I would only end up buying cake decorating things anyway haha

I'm also in the process, a very slow process I may add in building my own website, but everything feels like it's getting there slowly, you just can't give up I suppose!
There may be a couple of set backs along the way, one step forwards two steps back, that kind of things but sometimes I take more steps forwards.

So that's what has been  happening recently in the land of Sprinkle, Sparkle and Magic!

Speak soon, much love!

European Foodie Market - Sheffield 2015 and a general update

Evening everyone!

I haven't been on here in a while, I was meant to be posting up quite regularly but it never really happened! I apologies! xx

So I was supposed to post about this a few weeks ago, but I've been so busy with college, coursework, job interviews and orders that I haven't had time to think let alone post any blog posts, I still haven't finished the recipe for the spiced sugar cookies!

The European Food market was brilliant and as always when it comes, it's amazing! People from all over, France, Spain, Germany etc came with such wonderful foods! Pastries, meats, sandwiches, and lots of sugary treats too!

I bought this from such a lovely French stall!
The people we're so lovely and friendly and their food was divine!

I bought this lovely Spinach and Goats cheese pastry twists, basically like the cheese straws that you can get over here, the pastry was lovely and soft and flaky, spinach and cheese were just beautiful! This wasn't your average size "Twist". It was probably the same size as a 12" Sub from subway and it was so worth it! Was £2.50 which was ace!

I did originally walk past at first, taking a peak but didn't bother. Though when I got down to the bus stop, I realised that I needed to go back as my foodie sense we're tingling, and I ended up buying two cause they we're just that good!

They were making them all on site too which I just found amazing! The Spinach and Cheese ones we're very popular, they were coming out of the oven so soon after the first batch had been placed onto the table!

I love food markets so much, the wide range of food, people and culture is amazing! How all the smells and flavours mix into one, the people are so lovely and It's just amazing!

If they come back I will definitely be stocking up on them, and I will also try and give it a go at making some myself! ;)

Until next time,

Enjoy your weekend! Keep an eye out for this page and also the Sprinkle, Sparkle and Magic page, new recipes will be up later!

Much love!

Bit of a blow..then a bit on the up!

Hey everyone,

I hope we are all well this evening?

I don't know where to start if I'm honest, there's been some right things kicking off today and I just can't seem to get my head around it all!

I'll go back a bit...Recently I have been applying for jobs, but with how everything has gone down the toilet recently with the the UK and the world to be fair, there are not many said jobs about. And when you do find one to apply for, then you do find one that you apply for, they then get back to you and say that you don't have the "right" skills for the job. But some companies don't really want you to go to college or go into education to get the said "skills" that they want you to have,so how can you win? Beats me!

Anywho, I applied for this job and thought it would all run smoothly, it's part time so I can still do my college course until the end of May and then will hopefully be able to do my Level 2 course in September.

Well, how wrong was I?...

Firstly I was phoned about the job which I was delighted, but then when they started to be be a bit funny with me about being on my course on Tuesday's - Which I may point out is the only day I am there for! They basically didn't want me to do my course, said I could miss a couple of hours out of it and go straight there. I know it may not seem like much time to some, but that's a lot when you have stuff do do in Cake Decorating, it's really precious time!

So no, I couldn't really take some time out of my course, not when I had paid £450 out of my own pocket and savings for it I couldn't. They said they would cross that bridge when they get to it, if they think I am going to stop my education in something that I really love doing and that I want to get a job out of, they have another thing coming. I've worked in a call centre before and I can tell you it's not a pretty sight.

I worked at Virgin Media for a year, it was fine before new management took over, I was given way over the limit of jobs no one should of had, I got way too stressed, became ill, my hair started to fall out and I started to become depressed. I'm seriously not over exaggerating ask Mr. B! So since then I said that I wouldn't do a job like that again and now I have landed myself in it!

They've booked me to go onto a training week, but I have my driving theory test and there is no way that I am slowing down my chances of driving again, I've had my car for a year I want to be able to at least pass by the end of the year. But the way things are going at the moment there is always a  bloody set back so I don't know what I'm going to do!

One day I hope that I will look back on all these posts, when I've managed to get my own cake shop and prove everyone wrong that "Yes, you have done it Emma, well done! Just look at how far you have come!" I know what I need to get here, I've researched it, it's not the time it's going to take that bothers me, it's the money I need and how I'm going to get it!

And it really annoys me when people just tell you to "get a job" I am trying but it's harder than everyone thinks, cause most places don't want to take people on for a long time, they don't want to pay out loads on wages. They just want Bank people working or Zero hours, which is better for them so they don't have to pay out but it's rubbish for people who are trying to make their way in the world!

And that is all I'm trying to do! Is that so hard to ask for in life, to be able to do what you want to do and to be happy? Because to me, that's what you have to be. I don't want to live the bloody dream, it's sounds damn boring!

Find someone, settle down, get engaged, get married, have kids, have an everyday 9-5 job, detest your job, go on holiday and have fun, to come back to reality, grow old, get bored, get lonely and complain of what you didn't do in life and all the things you could of done and wished you could of done, but didn't because you just rolled with everyone else, you rolled with "the crowd" and look where it got you. Doing a job you hate, forking out money for things that you don't really need but is essential on a "modern" day life for things that you could be spending it on something that you really wanted to in life.

So to put things into perspective, no. No I wont miss a couple of hours of college, cause it's "Just college" I won't have a job I detest for the rest of my life just to do what other people "want" me do do. Because it's my bloody life, there my bloody rules and I will get to where I want to be and what I want to be able to do. I wont live my life making other people happy for the sake of me being miserable and and ill.

There is no point, you only have one life, so bloody live it and live it good!
